Growing Up

I am Cherokee and I grew up in East Central Alabama, in the distance is Cheaha Mountain. It is the highest point in Alabama.

I come from a medium size family, with my parents and six siblings.

I wondered the forest at will and developed a love for it that remains with me even today.

I love to sit on the mountain high up and play my guitar or maybe a flute or sometimes trumpet.

My Music

I grew up in a very musical family. From an early age I developed a great love for music. My taste in music has been a very evolving experience adn has covered a very vast range of styles and methods.

At 48 years old I look back and see that the musician who most influenced me was my Father. Though he played only one instrument (Harmonica) he was a fabulous musician and an outstanding vocalist. His knowldge of music was far beyond his time.

I have devoted my efforts musically to telling of the issues that we as First Nations People have faced, are facing and will face in the future.

I hope that you will find it pleasing in some small way.
